- To keep your skin and hair well lubricated your body depends on sebaceous glands that are presents all over your body except palms and soles of feet, and secrets sebum which coat your skin and hair to prevent them from drying out.
- Sebum travels up hair follicle and out through your pores onto the surface of your skin. Your skin routinely shed dead skin cells which sebum carries out of your body.
- Pimples occurs when your body produces extra sebum and dead skin cells gets trapped in hair follicle and that’s form a plug which block your pores resulting in skin blemishes.
- Then bacteria that normally exist in small amount on your skin can flourish in the sebum in the clogged leading to inflammation, depending upon where the clog is located and if you have inflammation pimples may appear.
- It mostly occurs in the area like face, chest, shoulder and back as these areas produces more oil than rest of the body.
- Over a time sebum and dead skin cells are accumulates in a block pore, which may results Microcomedo to gets enlarge and to form either an open comedo ( which is known as black head ) or close comedo ( which is known as white head ).
The reasons of occurring Acne problem

• Hormonal changes- At puberty the body begins to produce more androgen type hormones which cause to sebaceous glands to enlarged and produce more sebum.
2. Hyperkeratinisation
Hyperkeratinisation occurs when the cells of the follicle becomes trapped and do not shed normally in to the skin surface that results dead cells to come together and blocking pores and causing this problem.
3. Presence of Acne causing bacteria
Presence of P. Acnes bacteria, that presence in oily depths of our skin pores, on the top that the airless environment that causes the formation of plug in the hair follicle.
That causes the bacteria to multiply and turn sebum into fatty acid and that activates inflammation in near by skin cells.
